“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake and will not remember thy sins.”
Isaiah 43:25
Many Believers often feel overwhelmed by the difficulties they face in life, such as money problems, sickness, and other heavy burdens. But there is hope in a story from the Bible, Luke 13:11-14 which tells us about a woman who had been bent over by a spirit of sickness for eighteen years. When she met Jesus, her life was changed forever.
Jesus saw the woman and called her to Him. He said, Woman, you are free from your sickness.” He touched her, and right away she stood up straight and praised God. The religious leader in the synagogue was upset because Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath, a day of rest. But Jesus reminded him that even on the Sabbath, people unite their animals to give them water. Shouldn’t this woman, who is part of God’s family, be released from her burden on the Sabbath?
This story shows us that Jesus is ready and able to free us from our burdens, no matter how long we have carried them. In Galatians 3:29, it says that if we belong to Jesus, we are part of God’s special people and receive His promises. He has saved us, called us by name, and promised to be with us through all the challenges of life. Let us bring our burdens to Jesus and lay them down before Him. He is ready and able to free us from our burdens and give us new life and hope. By trusting in His promises and His love for us, we can find peace and rest even in the midst of life’s challenges.
